Hi everyone! I hope you guys are doing great as always. Today is one of my most requested reviews. I am giving you my final thoughts about the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer. Is it really a dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape? Keep reading to learn more.

If you have been following me for awhile you know that the Tarte Shape Tape is my Holy Grail concealer. It is full coverage, it dries matte, it does not cake off, it does not settle into fine lines or dry patches, but it still looks natural. At the price of $27 per 0.3381 oz it is on the expensive side. I was very excited when I heard that the new Makeup Revolution Concealer was a possible dupe for it.
After a couple of months I finally got my hands on 2 shades that I thought were the ones that would better match my skin tone, C5 and C6. However, they were always sold out. I was so disappointed on how it performed on me. First of all, for me it is a light coverage concealer and when I tried to build it to a medium coverage it caked on me like crazy. It settled in every little line that I didn’t even know I had, lol. No concealer I’ve ever tried has creased this much. I have tried multiple different ways to set it and nothing works. It just makes my under eyes look so dry and cakey. It looked so bad on me every time I used it. It made me look like 10 years older, not kidding. The only similarities I found with the Tarte Shape tape was the wand applicator. I like the huge range of 24 shades that they offer. I bought them at Ulta for $8.00 per 0.11 oz each. I do love many other products from them, but this one did not work for me.

While I was purchasing the Makeup Revolution concealer I came across this one from Ulta that also was on sale so I decided to give it a try. I bought it in the shades light warm and medium warm. My shocking surprise was that it was very close to the Tarte Shape Tape. It provides a medium coverage that can be built up to a full one. It has a creamy texture and blends easily, dries semi-matte, and doesn’t settle into fine lines when I set it with powder because if not it will crease. It also feels more hydrating than the Shape Tape. It says on the package that it is waterproof and it really stayed on all day. The cons are that it does oxidize so I recommend you to buy it 1 to 2 shades lighter and there is not that much product in each tube either so you will run out of it pretty quickly. I bought them on sale for $4.50 each. I checked on Ulta’s website and the regular price is $8.00 per 0.08 oz which is very affordable. I will buy it again and I highly recommend you to give it a try if you do not mind the cons.

Have you ever tried any of these concealers before? Do you have a dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape? I would love to try it. Thank you so much for reading!
I bought these products with my own money.
